What is a Lymphatic Drainage?
Lymphatic Massage reduces swelling & bolsters the immune system by increasing movement of lymph fluid through the body & helping the body flush toxins. The body’s lymphatic system naturally removes waste from tissues to help our body flush excess fluids and stagnant lymph.
Lymph nodes help to destroy bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms as lymph fluid passes through. When the lymph system is blocked, fluid builds up in the body and the lymph system can become stagnant. This can lead to swelling, general discomfort, and a depressed immune system. Lymphatic drainage massage can assist in detoxifying the body by stimulating the tissue to remove lymph fluid buildup without compressing the vessels.
We offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage for general wellness as well as Medical Lymphatic Drainage for pre & post surgical procedures, including plastic surgery & joint replacements.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle compression technique that is recommended for detoxification, reducing swelling & inflammation, boosting the immune system, promoting illness recovery, and improving body tone.
Medical Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic Drainage for pre & post surgical procedures including liposuction, reconstructive surgery, dental procedures, cesarean births & joint replacements. Our practitioners have advanced training in Medical Lymphatic Drainage and are trained to safely provide manual lymphatic drainage at all stages pre and post-op.
Initial Visits: We schedule 90 minutes for your initial visit to allow us time to gather information about your surgical procedure, assess your healing process, provide manual lymphatic drainage and consultation around best practices for healing. You can book this appointment before or after your procedure. We will custom fit foam-padding for compression garments to support your healing post surgery and as you heal, if needed.
Follow-up Visits: We schedule 75 minutes for follow-up visits to allow at least 60 minutes for MLD with time to assess your healing and cut new foam-padding at various stages of healing, if needed.
Our Medical Lymphatic Practitioners have advanced training in MLD for Plastic Surgery Procedures Management from The Academy of Lymphatic Studies and the Colorado School of Healing Arts.
